My baby belly.....

Irma and Juan

Friday night was my final scheduled "pre baby" photo session. Irma is my good friend's sister, so when she asked me to do her engagement session a few weeks back, I couldn't resist! Thankfully Matt came along to help me carry my gear and pose some of the photos, which I greatly appreciated!
It was crazy hot, but Irma and Juan were good sports and never complained! We had beautiful light!!

Irma looks a lot like her sister, and when my two year old daughter passed by and saw me editing these photos, she pointed at Juan and said, "Who's that with Mayra (my friend), and where's Trent (my friend's sister)?" So funny! I explained that this is Mayra's sister and my daughter replied, "Well, she has a nice face!" I agree....they look great together and make a beautiful couple!

These two shots below are my favorites. I think my subjects were a little nervous at first, but by the end of the session they were far more natural. The kiss below wasn't staged at all...luckily I had my camera ready and could snap a quick shot of it! And the picture to the right was the very end of the evening. They were waiting for me to get set up in a new spot and just relaxing together. I hope this will be something they'll know often in their marriage...leaning on each other and chilling together. :)

We grabbed this shot as we headed back to the cars. The bouganvilla in the window box was just too gorgeous to resist. I am proud to say that my 9-month pregnant self laid on my back in the street to get enough of an angle to fit both the lovebirds and the flowers in the frame. Won't say that it looked pretty when I had to get up, but I made it!

Hey Jude!

Isn't Jude just the cutest? We had to work hard to get some smiles, but it was worth it! His mommy couldn't believe his poker face--she said he's usually cracking up all the time...but he definitely had his serious side showing for our session! I loved getting to know this neat Mom and her boys...and what a beautiful location--we took the photos at Dad's work. I can't imagine WORKING somewhere this beautiful every day!

I love this progression....Jude DID NOT like Mommy sharing her kisses with someone else and quickly pulled her over to him. Adorable!

Three for Tea!

This past week I got to do one of the neatest photo sessions I've ever done. These three adorably sweet girls were in town visiting their grandma:
And every year during their visit they plan a tea party together--complete with a dress up station filled with hats, boas, jewelry, and accessories. Everyone chooses their outfit for tea.

Then a formal tea is served--four choices of tea flavors, dainty sandwiches such as butter and cucumber, and of course yummy treats (I forgot the official tea vocabulary for all of these items...). It was so neat! The girls look forward to this every year (and I think their Grandma does, too!).

After tea there were some fun games such as "Ring around the Rosie."
And then I did a little photo shoot of the girls....They are 4, 6, and 8 and I just loved meeting them! They had the funnest personalities and were just a blast to photograph. Such sweet sisters!
And then a couple with Mom and Grandma!
What a fun, fun day! I am already looking forward to next year!!

A bigger "Little Berry"

I took a few shots of Jacque's baby bump at 6 months, but this week had the pleasure of doing a full maternity session for them...and baby's grown a bit since then!!
I loved capturing their excitement about their little "Berry" who will arrive at the end of August! And Mama is just glowing...

Of course the little gal already has a growing shoe collection...Which scares her Daddy a bit. I am sure he'll have her in a pair of race boots so she can join him out on the racetrack soon enough!

What a fun session and of course I can't wait until that little berry is ripened and ready to arrive!

6 Months of Baby K

I met this family to take some 6 month portraits of Baby K over the past weekend. I could literally take 3 hours worth of photos of this crew and they'd still be smiling and happy and compliant! I LOVE doing their sessions! They are just so easy and natural and good natured! And isn't K ADORABLE??!!! Even when she's crying....which was for like 1 second of the entire session.

We had fun trying out some pearls and bows and lacy blankets. K took to those pearls quicker than a wink. I think that made Daddy nervous. :)

Such a happy girl!!

Mayra's Baby Bump

Not only did I get the pleasure of shooting Trent and Mayra's engagement photos a while back, now I love being a part of the next stage of their lives--the birth of their first little boy! We had a fun (but h-o-t) time documenting Mayra's baby bump! Our session took place at Trent's grandparent's house in the country....I love when sessions take place somewhere meaningful, so this was the perfect spot!
The baby's name will be Nolan, so of course Dad had to sport his 'Stros cap in the photos!

Can't wait to meet that little guy!!

Ava's One!

Ava is a year old and it was time for some updated portraits! In true toddler form she was ready to run away from the camera every chance she got and definitely DID NOT want Mom or Dad to hold her. That's okay, we had fun capturing her "doing her thing...." playing in the dirt, running around and climbing on benches. That's the joy of a one year old!

Check out those huge brown eyes!!
